Fashion – An Art Of Self-Expression

Fashion is a mode of personal autonomy and self-expression in a given cultural and time period and in a certain context, in clothes, footwear, lifestyle, makeup, hairstyles, and body structure. The word means a style defined by the fashion industry collectively as what is popular at the moment. It is not only identified with what is seen or heard but also with what is desired to be. A particular trend may be popular today, but if it is not matched with what the people want to be seen or heard then it will end up becoming an ephemeral trend that fades away as fast as it started.

Everyone has their own perception of what fashion is or should be. What is attractive and what makes one’s hair stick straight up is not the same thing for another. For many people, wearing a dress that is too small for them or a pair of jeans that are too big for them would be considered unfashionable. Others, on the other hand, would love to have a piece of fashion that is popular and current, just like the fashions and styles that are shown on TV. If there is one thing that is clear about fashion, it is that it changes all the time. From the present day, let us look back to the past and the trend that being popular and fashionable in the past.

Fashion styles change depending on the prevailing mood, the social situation and the current trends and fashions. There are some fashion statements that were common for certain eras and some that are still being followed these days. These statements reflect the prevailing fashion trends of the time. It is important to remember that every fashion statement that you see or witness, even the ones that are considered unfashionable, were once considered stylish by people from a certain culture or social circle.
